
ZACCI Successfully holds it’s 66th Annual General Meeting
On 25th August, 2023, the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) held its 66th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka.
The highlight of the ZACCI AGM was the election of new office bearers, through a democratic process which was superintended over by the Forum for Democratic Process (FODEP).
The AGM constitutionally mandated the diverse gathering to usher in new officer bearers to strategic oversight and direction of the institution for the next two years.
After a successful electoral process, Mr. Anthony Kabaghe , a prominent Kitwe businessman and proprietor of Zedfields Mining Company Limited was ushered into office as the new ZACCI President.
The rest of the ZACCI Board members are as follows:
Mr. Ashu Sagar – Vice President, Industry and Manufacturing.
Mrs. Christabel Ngongola Reinke – Vice President, Trade and Commerce.
Mr. Andrew Sinyangwe , Vice President, Services.
Members at Large;
Mr. Allan Nyirenda, Dr. George Nonde, Mr. Eugene Chungu, Mr. Emmanuel Chilufya,
Mrs. Imanga Kayama and Mr. Gideon Chibuye
For the positions of Trustees, Mr. Paul Chisunka and Professor Gaudenzio Rossi were retained.
In delivering his maiden remarks, the president elect, Mr. Anthony Kabaghe, expressed delight at his election to the office of the apex body representing the private sector interests in the Country and thanked the general membership of ZACCI for the confidence bestowed upon him and further committed to continue championing the mandate of the Chamber and make it the real voice of the Industry. He committed to enhancing private sector participation at all levels of economic development so as to ensure private sector increased contribution to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The president further thanked all the aspirants to the various portfolios of ZACCI and encouraged all members to embrace the spirit of oneness in order to champion and growth of the Chamber movement at all levels.
