ZACCI Lobbies Revocation of Accountants SI 34

In April 2018, the Government issued a statutory instrument (Accountants [Client Fees] Regulations, 2018 [Statutory Instrument Number 34 of 2018]) to regulate the fees charged by accountants to micro, small, medium, and large organisations.

Recognising the impact of such regulation on Business, ZACCI advocated on behalf of the business community to maintain free-market operations whilst emphasising the need for ZICA to review its internal audit quality tier standards.

On 5th February 2019, the SI 34 was revoked by the Ministry of Finance. This is testament to the effective advocacy and lobbying that ZACCI will continue to do on behalf of our members and the business community at large. We continue to be the voice of business.
