
SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) BETWEEN THE ZAMBIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (ZACCI) AND THE SOUTHERN AFRICA GEORGIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (SAGCC)
The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) and the Southern Africa Georgia Chamber of Commerce (SAGCC) agreed to build cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for developing and strengthening economic cooperation between South Africa and Zambia. This important process was necessitated by the need for both parties to highlight specific objectives and expectations to help stimulate economic activities between the two countries.
The Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry represented by its President, Chabuka Kawesha and the Southern Africa Georgia Chamber of Commerce, represented by HE Ambassador Beka Dvali, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. The signing ceremony of the MOU was virtually held with management and board members of both chambers present.
The MoU coverage is focused on the fields of principle activities of both chambers, which include representing the general interest of the business community that pertain to both countries in an effort to bring about harmonization of policies and practices, providing well researched information to form a basis for advice to members that will make sound business and investment decisions, promoting economic development that will result in high standards of goods and services traded between the two countries, providing market information and economic statistics, encouraging foreign investment that shall facilitate mutual benefit through business partnerships, technological transfer, enhanced supply chains among various economic players and facilitating international trade.
By signing the document, the partners have agreed to work in cooperation towards business development. The two parties are also committed to bolstering markets, as well as participating in relations that will promote economic and trade collaboration even amidst the covid-19 pandemic.
