NORTH WESTERN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY BOARD DISSOLUTION

Notice is hereby given to the general public that the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry ZACCI instituted investigations and visited Solwezi to establish the facts to the occurrence prior, during and after the elective Annual General meeting of the NWCCI which took place on Saturday 28th January, 2023. After interactions with the NWCCI and affected members of the Chamber and deliberations of the ZACCI Board of Directors on 8th February 2023, it was resolved that: The North Western Chamber of Commerce and Industry election results be nullified and its Board dissolved with immediate effect. The nullification is pursuant to the findings and omission of the electoral Chamber laid down processes.

All expelled and/or precluded members in the said electoral process must be reinstated with full membership status and benefits with effect from the date of such expulsion/suspension/exclusion. This resolution must be upheld until the day of an EGM to be held in the next 45 days where fresh elections will be held and presided over by
ZACCI who will ensure the constitutional provisions to prevent recurrence of such an outcome. Further the Board that existed before the annulled election will run affairs of NWCCI to the day of the elective EGM.

In view of this, the Chamber wishes to advise aspiring candidates who may wish to contest in this election that failure to comply with these requirements shall render the nomination papers null and void.
