BENEFIT FROM DUTY FREE ACCESS TO INDIA
ZACCI wishes to inform you that the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) through the ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry has received a report from the Zambian High Commission in India on the practical steps to benefit from duty free access to India.
The Duty Free Scheme now provides for margins of preference or duty-free imports. To meet the Origin Criteria, a product must be wholly obtained or produced in one country ,or if not wholly obtained or produced in one country must satisfy the transformation requirements specified in the rules of origin provisions .The Duty Free Tariff preference Scheme is open to all 48 least developed countries and as at 31st July 2016 the least developed countries were notified as beneficiaries under the scheme including Zambia.
In April,2014 the product coverage and margins of preferences under the Duty Free Tariff Preference Scheme was expanded.
This serves to encourage you to take advantage of the market access of your exports to India.
