2024 National Budget
On Monday, October 2nd, the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) participated in the National Symposium on the 2024 National Budget, which took place at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre. This symposium was organized by the Ministry of Finance & National Planning, and it brought together key stakeholders from various sectors. ZACCI, being the foremost representative of the business community, played a pivotal role in facilitating this crucial dialogue.
Our delegation to this important event was led by Mr. Anthony Kabaghe, the President of ZACCI. Accompanying him were key figures from our organization: Mr. Elvin Nasilele, Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Paul Chisunka, Trustee; Mrs Christabel N. Reinke, Vice President of Commerce and Trade; Mr. Gideon Chibuye, Member at Large; Mr. Emmanuel Chilufya, Member at Large; and research officers from secretariat, Mulenga and Emmanuel.
Throughout the symposium, we were committed to addressing a wide range of issues spanning various sectors, all with the aim of advocating for the interests of our esteemed members. Mr. Anthony Kabaghe delivered insightful presentations, notably proposing a partnership between ZACCI and the Government to enhance the debt carrying capacity of cooperatives and SMEs accessing Constituency Development Fund (CDF) funds. This proposal envisions integrating them as chamber members, thereby facilitating their access to financial, management, and technical capacity building.
